From Dust Message Board  

I don't know where to find my version. I haven't played the game in a week and need to know what version I'm playing so I know if I can use the trainer. I don't see the game patching. I still have to go through Steam.

Go to your Steam folder > steamapps > common > from dust. Find the From Dust .exe > right click on it > properties > details. You should see the version numbers there.

I did that and couldn't find a version number. The version number isn't there, so I'm assuming it isn't patched, and wondering why Steam isn't patching it, so sent them an email. I don't expect a reply.

Alot of .exe's don't show version numbers in details anymore anyway, you'll have to poke around like i'm doing. Though i'm assuming more that this trainer is for the steam version only, and not the direct2drive version.

Edit: it wasn't the trainers fault actually, i had to set ubisofts launcher to launch as admin as well as the trainer and exe of the game. So make sure your steam runs on admin as well as the game and trainer. Also just try to use either of the trainers, my game doesn't seem to care which of the two trainers i use.

I do have the Steam version. I know others don't agree with me, but I get better service from D2D than from Steam. I sent Steam a message three days ago, about my game not patching, and asking what version I'm using. They haven't answered.

To get a reply from steam admins you have to post under three different sections, with the same post, they will pick one of them up depending which category they find more important to look at first, so just copy and paste into three categories

Edit: and i love direct2drive! i've never had a single problem with them, i've had one issue or two with impulses games more than steam though too.
