I thought space marine was fun, just way too short. Took me just shy of 5 hours on easy.

No kidding I finished it around that same time frame too. And I thought the long jog across the levels was long

yeah less than 10 hours on hard with out CoSMOS (admitively i played and beaten before with engine so new what to expect)

the game is short but the levels are sweet and some like the start of level 9 have great nostalgic value ot other games (cod2 airplane scenes if your curious)

Had a chance to play it properly over the weekend and I have to say it's pretty damn awesome for a mindless shooter/hack'n'slash. Though I was expecting RPG elements? Maybe I missed something.

The devs definitely got the scale down perfectly, even when it's just the buildings and structures you can see in the distance. The bridge and manufactorum for example.

I have two major gripes however. The first being is checkpoint saves. This is a gripe in any game which uses checkpoints... I mean, what the hell are they thinking when they decide on that instead of manual saves? Christ...

My second gripe is the linearity of the whole thing. There's the occasional side room with ammo or an audio log, but for the most part it's purely a straight line (figuratively speaking) from point A to point B without any option for exploration. I don't usually mind games with severe linearity - sometimes it makes a change not to get completely and utterly lost in a huge open space - but at least most games like that give you the sense of freedom, even if there isn't any. I can understand it to a point on the outside, since a lot of it is made up of trenches, but there's plenty of other opportunity where they could have added bigger/more areas.

Anyway, other than that, great game!

Blahhhh.....I liked dead Island much better than this one. Game gets really repetative and boring early on...I dunno
    I give it a "5"
