Hi guys! I have been looking at the different options for getting The Sims 3 on my Macbook Pro and I have a question that I figured I would bring here. From the looks of it, none of the legitimate game downloading sites (e.g. Origins, D2D, etc.) have The Sims 3 base game available as a digital download. I know that in the past when I have bought The Sims 2 games, I would download the base game, then all the expansion packs. After the expansion packs were all downloaded, from then on the game would use the first downloaded expansion pack to launch. Now I'm not sure if the case remains with The Sims 3, but I think it would be beneficial to buy the base game, download it, then buy an expansion pack via digital download and just use that to launch the game so I would not always have to use the discs. So I suppose my question in short is: Can I buy a disc of the base game, buy a digital download of the expansion packs, and use the expansion packs to launch the game? Any help would be very much appreciated! Thanks

I looked on Steam, and it appears the "base game" is available. You sure you looked at all the legitimate digital distribution services?
