Just bought the Collector's Edition today, using the trainer causes the money to go up immediately, but about 1 second after that the game crashes.
EDIT: Okay...started doubting myself so I went and tried again and it worked fine...confusing, I'll post again if I discover anything new.

EDIT #2: So it appears that sometimes the trainer DOES cause the game to crash...at this point, though, I can't figure why it crashes sometimes and not others. Let me know if you'd like me to send you an exe.

A note of warning to those with problems with the trainer (whose game version matches the trainer version); It's not compatible with Windows 8, unfortunately . If your running Windows 7 or earlier then look at the trainer troubleshooting guide.
Wait what only 1 option... I'm a bit disappointed, don't think of it as the first thought you get in your head.. I don't even have the game but knowing the abilities of you guys I expected more.

I haven't seen any of these trainers that say they work with Windows 8, but they do. Except for this one, which is something with what the trainer is looking for.
GameFly version does not work with this trainer. It says it can't find the game, even though I have Tropico 4 Gold Edition w/ Modern Times and the correct version number.
I'm pretty sure that the GameFly version is considered Retail. You don't have to have the GameFly client running to run the game.
