Under the SAVEGAMES tab it shows:

more information / instructions:
"Extract the files to the PS3/SAVEGAME folder..." which is incorrect. "SAVEGAME" actually needs to say "SAVEDATA" in order for the PS3 to read it. I hope this helps everybody out who may have thought they were doing something wrong. :-) Oh and remember to use CAPS. Happy gaming!
