Ugh, I think steam cloud was disabled but then again it wouldn't matter if the game itself won't save for some reason. I can't tell if it's a bug or not either

developer has tried to update the game yet again.. sigh. please divert your attention to a new game or some other update!

at any rate, we updated the trainer in about 5 mins. pwizard will post shortly.

dont forget to delete your BHZD.DAT file before running the new trainer so it can get the new addresses.

If it's any consolation, I don't think it's updating with the purpose to disable the trainer. Even after stating you'd retired the game, and before the auto-updating trainer was posted there was an update or two. I think it's just a ridiculously buggy game on some systems.

i thought the purpose of the auto updating trainer was to prevent the need to make a new trainer by having the auto update track down the new code addresses?

looks like beat hazard detects if you're using the auto-updating trainer and subsequently doesn't save any score or achievements.
