I am at a boss that is a big demon and he is in this pool of the silver goo that is in the game...I keep attacking him but not see really any damage going to him...is there something I should be attacking? I know about the heart thing...was attacking that but same thing...am I supposed to destroy the pillers that he seems to be refilling his health from? Any info would help..

Just kill him till some point u will see a little beam of light coming form the 4 pillers tell the warrior to knock them down just keep doing it for each one

shoot the light on his chest to speed up the fight. i let the guy tanking the little adds while I stay way back of the room and just shoot his opening on his chest.

Yup. Best way to do it. Spoiler:
Archer aims at the light in the center of his chest. Warrior & Archer can stand at the top with the warrior helping keep the adds back. Once he starts sucking from a pillar, warrior takes it down. Crouch behind the logs to avoid the AoE Clap and run from the blobs. Much easier if you've gotten the crystal weapons from the puzzles.
