I've been trying for two days to get past the Kayran. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to move on skipping it? I've tried every hint or suggestion posted online for how to do it. I'm using most current version and not having any bug or hardware slowing. I've been able to cut off the tentacles but never made it past the QTE. QTE difficulty setting is off.
If there is a cheat to get past it, please let me know. I'm at the point of frustration to delete game and take it back for a refund, which would be a real disappointment.
I hate the kayran. I hate it so much I'm too sick of it to kill it. My response time is very lame but is there no way to pause the action, look around and plan?
This has been about 4 hours so far of only getting on the kayran's tentacle to fly around two times. That's as far as I get. Usually, only one tentacle or two is all I can chop if I'm lucky.
I'm playing on easy. I stopped counting replays at 20.
I love this game. I love the story, characters, decisions.. God, I want to get back to all of that!
I don't want a "God Mode" cheat because I'm not sure if I can turn it back off after the Kayran battle. I just want to skip it (like the guy above me said) any way possible without screwing up the rest of the game by giving me ridiculous superpowers.
[Afternote: I did finally beat the Kayran. I turned off difficult fte's and couldn't believe it when I actually then did it after about a dozen more tries.]
I'm at the Kayran, and it's ****ed off. I have a sword, and am trapping the arms using the Yrden spell, buy my sword is useless. The sword will not swing - Garalt just runs around with it in his hand. No buttons fix this. What am I doing wrong? LMB, RMB, even dropping it and picking it back up all have no effect. Can't cut the arms off!
Also found a similar issue in town where I could not sheathe the sword and had to drop it and then put it in inventory to keep from setting off the guards. Related issue?
Thanks in advance for any help!
You have to wait until the game really responds to "trapping" one arm(usually the most left one)with the Yrden sign. It is a pity that the game often changes very quickly and unexpected from film to possible action and back. And the QTMs,-there are two in the Kayran fight,I think,- do not make handling any easier.Even if you turned off the option QTM in the main menu. I have played the game three times already(with Iorweth)but am still trapped for about half an hour in the Kayran fight, which has no real bugs but a very complicated and not user-friendly level design and handling.
