I need a good gaming computer*. I don't need it to run godly graphics, just without lag. I tried to play Mafia II on this piece of junk HP laptop*. Suffice to say it lagged so much I simply quit after dieing from a crash.

Gaming laptops are very expensive even the mid range ones.

For the price of one of those you can have a PC that kicks serious ass :P

Get a tower PC for gaming. Laptops have much more flimsy components that are way more prone to overheating.

Well something cheaper that still runs well? It could be possible I just need to get a better video card in this laptop. Maybe nvidia. I was looking into a new computer though.

I always say that Laptops are not for gaming, my advice for you is to save that high price of a fairly good gaming laptop and buy a gaming god PC!

see...nothing compares to the serious gaming power of a properly put together desktop...not even the best consoles. i suggested Alienware 17x because u wanted a gaming laptop suggestion and i have one...and its pretty awesome...but yes quite expensive. so much of hardware crammed into a tight space is bound to create heat issues although Alienware has done its best to minimize it. and u definitely can get a awesome rig for almost half the price.

Unfortunately, if you're determined to get a laptop for gaming you're gonna have to pay for it. There's not really any "bargains" to be made like you could with a desktop. A friend in University had an Alienware laptop, but even that was prone to overheating, purely because of so much crammed into such a small space. It's all about the basic pro's and con's of laptops unfortunately.
