I'm grabbing this game no doubt but after having a glimpse earlier on the game engine, this whole idea of walking around, sneaking & third person choice making is sort of stepping away the idea of a true Role Playing Game. For that, it is already not going to be the same as the first game. It will be shorter in game-play.
The Witcher was thoroughly based on the book and defined a standard for RPG games. I thought that the Poles would produce an entire different game for the PC since it can handle the demand but as what it seem's they decided to keep it plain & simple, console friendly.
I don't know maybe my decision will change when I play it.
    ThaiStick, I agree.
    Old-school.

Personally, I think this game is getting far more hype than it deserves. If you're looking for a good RPG I'd stick with Dragon Age 2 imo. Mainly because of 2 very simple reasons I'll keep [as] short (as I can) in explanations: 1. Graphics. I have a very good box. 12g of Ram, a pair of Nvidia 580s and 4 3.6cores. Now, the fact that the game looks rough around the edges tells you something. 2. The story. It's awesome but the problem lies within the gameplay, and the lack there-of. The beginning of the game is almost intolerable if you're looking for action. If I had to watch one more cinematic/game scene I think I might have based in my screens. The combat feels very hack-n-slash and it's so bloody repetitive.

Is it a good game? Yes; but it has so many things that take away from the experience it just bothers me. I played for an hour and gave up on it. Hunted comes out tonight and with the FPS & racing games I have I'll be happy.

Grammar and punctuation is the difference between; "I helped my uncle, Jack, off a horse." ...and... i helped my uncle jack off a horse.

I totally agree with this XWolf. The game just didnt deliver what it was hyped up to, for me atleast... I play'd it a few days, finished it and laid it to rest - aint gonna install it again thats for sure - would much rather go back to DA2 or ME2.

The Witcher 2 does have its own flaws, but to say that DA2 is better? In graphics, Witcher 2 definitely beats out DA2. It's gorgeous. As for the storyline, DA2's story is a lot more bland and predictable. Furthermore, if you said Witcher combat as "hack-n-slash" and "repetitive", then what is DA2 combat? It's even more repetitive and definitely worse when they speed up the combat to crazy ninja speed.

I think nobody would complains about the nice graphics ( eventually the hardware must be real "hard"ware).

The only problem that somebody start advertise this game as an RPG, instead of hack and slash.
And some stupid PR manager used such markers like "newly implemented", "totally new game experience" and similar connected this #&@{.

Exactly the same stupid problem like with DAO2.

The "sucks" is not so expressive...another h&s, but Diablo was never beaten.
