hard and insane are exactly the same in difficulty wise only that in insane once u die thats it start over

Prooflink, please. I'm not that sure if they are otherwise identical. On the contrary, developers said that user will be rewarded for completing game on insane. Maybe the ingame reward will be like an otherwise unreachable ending.

I don't know doesn't it kind of spoil the Insane difficulty if you can replay your savegames? That's my opinion on the matter mostly. I'm no where near that level of skill in the game yet, but if I ever reach it I'm definitly going to try it. It's something you don't see in a lot of games anymore the extreme punishable difficulties. Adds some realism too if you ask me, you mess up you die

Or it could be a virtual pat on the back and a "play again soon!" message . No doubt someone who finishes the game on Insane will post somewhere on the internet what the reward is, so I'd wait for that and se if it's worth it, and enjoy the game for now.

Oh, uh... you do know the trainer has an infinite health option too, right?

The mark is coded in the registry.
You must change the gamedata key.
    HKCU\Software\CD Projekt RED\The Witcher 2
    gamedata : REG_NONE :

For my test I have just one game on so that make :
    Alive :
    06,45,ca,94,7d,b9,a6,54,35,f5,41,b0,bc,70,f1,c6,5b,ed,77,73,54,16,57,04,8c,7c,0d,92,10,70,74,b8,06,1e,36,2b,a7,af,9c,01,e0,f4,8b,fb,22,92,24,5e,bf,84,4c,57,07,79,00

    Dead :
    97,ff,2e,94,7d,b9,a6,54,35,f5,41,b0,bc,70,f1,c6,5b,ed,77,73,54,16,57,05,8c,7c,0d,92,10,70,74,b8,06,1e,36,2b,a7,af,9c,01,e0,f4,8b,fb,22,92,24,5e,bf,84,4c,31,39,1b,00

You can see the differences between alive and dead are just the three first 06,45,ca and the 97,ff,2e and after the four last 57,07,79,00 abd 31,39,1b,00

So take time to see for your game (or just export when alive and export the registry after death) and make the change if needed.

Perhaps I will test more to see if all the seven are useful or just some and how it work for more games played at the same time.

After some more tests, it seems to change after saving, so you must save the registry key too.

i really hope there comes a easy way to do this. i just died in what i can only believe is one of the final battles due to pressing the wrong botton, and while i like the general idea of being ****ed if you die, i really dont feel like repeating the intire game again
