Make sure you're using the 2nd trainer from the top, that's for the Steam version.
My experience may be of help. I started the trainer first as I usually do, and is normally suggested. Had all kinds of problems, basically wasn't working. So I tried running the game first, then as soon as I first saw my character, I ran the trainer AS Admin and it's working perfectly so far. Try that, see how it goes.
As always, make sure to disable your AV and firewall and run trainer as Admin.
Oh, and btw... Some things you won't see until it's their time. Like Vigor, for instance. You won't see the Gold Vigor bar extend way out until you're practicing fighting during the Tutorial.
Actually, I would suggest if you're going to start with the Tutorial and you're having ANY problems with the Trainer, don't use the Trainer at all until you're finished with the tutorial and advancing into the game. Why? Some things won't show up when you turn on that option. Other times use of the trainer can actually stop the progression of the tutorial. Causes a lot of complaints that the trainer isn't working. YMMV.
Hi. I have retail Witcher 2 version 220.127.116.11 and none of the trailers is working. Please help :-)
Not working how? That's not much information. I'm using the Steam version and it works just fine. The first trainer is for Retail and GOG. I would suggest not using it for the Tutorial, wait till the main storyline starts. If you tried what I wrote above already, then check here:
Hello there i have version 18.104.22.168 tried different methods and different trainers ( not only gog but steam too). It's not working. I have no idea why. Runned it as admin before and after load of save or after tutorial. Update it somehow pls Q_Q Thank you very much.
Listen guys, this is one of the games I'm currently playing and I promise you, the Steam version I'm playing works. When you just say "doesn't work" that's not enough information for anybody to be of much specific help.
All I can tell you is if you're playing on a Windows 32 bit version with 4GB of Ram like I am, there are memory issues. Check the forums.
If you are starting the game with the Tutorial and using the trainer, it can appear that it's not working depending on the option and where you are. It can also stop the tutorial from proceeding. Don't use it during the tutorial, wait till the main storyline starts if you're having problems during the tutorial phase.
Make sure you're using the right version, the first trainer for retail and GOG, the second one for Steam. I'm using Steam but I'd bet the other one works as well.
Disable all your antivirus programs and firewall. Run trainer and game As Admin. We see trainer problems reported all the time, and it seems like more than half the time, those two things correct the issues.
The troubleshooting page is very complete and I'd suggest going thru it issue by issue to try and resolve your problem.
There's been no new update for them to update the trainers for guys. Bottom line, you'll need to dig in and figure out your individual issues.
