The options allow for the console to be enabled - does anybody know if the old cheats ("god", "noclip" etc) still work?

They do work

OK. I tried a few, but never received any confirmation that they actually did anything (typing in "god" used to result in "god mode enabled", I received no response at all).

And yes, I did set sv_cheats to 1.

maybe responses are just supressed, try throwing yourself off a tall structure, or stand infront of a sentry

am i allowed to post cheats, i iknow how to make console ones work, but ive been told off before for posting them outside of directly mailing them to ch?

There's sites that list the console commands, such as IGN and Gamespot.

I do know for a fact that the ent_ commands work without sv_cheats on, since I ignited myself ingame with sv_cheats set to 0 and it worked.

The Cheats do still work, but you need to enable them first:

sv_cheats 1

then the only cheat that's worth using in portal2 is the noclip anyway which is very easy to bind to a key:

bind o noclip (as example)
would let you to toggle the noclip cheat on/off

in other shorter words: still the same as it used to be

Make sure the Developer Console is enabled in options, and assign a proper key to open the console. Open the developer console in-game and note the following commands:

God - Makes you immortal (Your health is static)
noclip - Ability to fly, even through walls (Type again to toggle)
ent_create_portal_companion_cube - Creates a Companion Cube
ent_create_portal_reflector_cube - Creates a Reflector Cube (For lasers)

These are just a few that I have tried and that work. Slight warning it will disable achievements and stats. Also remember to type sv_cheats 1 first.
