command and conquer generals,a real let down and the main reason that command&conquer got boring and many westwood fans got really dissappointed well(since red alert 2 n yuri's revenge were really great games and made fans wanted more),it's more funny coz they made an expansion of generals, like they wanna lose more money, which i'm sure they did,as both was a fluke and failed to sell...
Generals was always set up to be a MP C&C, but it wasn't fully Westwood. Westwood sold the company to EA before Generals.
hmmmnnnn,i think it's confusing, since i never said anything about westwood creating generals, but i also forgot to mention EA being its noob maker...
i included them to refer more about the fans getting high expectation on generals since ra2 n yr were really great, but generals turns out a huge dissappointment...
like a succesful movie, where viewers expected more and better on that movie's part 2 that winds up a huge dissappointment...
For me, I'd have to say that Halo (in general) was too hyped. I never enjoyed the story at all. The multi-player was decent, but got boring after a while.
Also, Oblivion kinda bored me. I borrowed the GOTY edition from my friend, (and this is after Fallout3 had come out) and Oblivion and Fallout3 played like the same game. But I didn't like the leveling system is Oblivion and I just preferred the story in F3 more.
Also, Tom Clancy's ENDWAR was a little bit of a letdown. The demo was fun, and the concept was great, but it just wasn't enough to keep me playing. I still haven't finished it, and I bought it when it came out.
There have been afew games in my gaming history that failed to meet the expectations that they were hyped up to be.
Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion
What made Morrowind so unique as a game was the fact you could change any piece of armor you had right and left gloves, shoulder armor, belts, rings. and you could customize everything you wanted to. And this was what Oblivion lacked. you went from 10 pieces of armor to swap and change around to 4-5 it killed the game for me not being able to micromanage my characters look and feel. This and other failures to attention to detail ruined the game for me.
Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3
I haven't met someone yet who likes this failure It was hyped up to be this brilliant next gen RTS that pulls all the stops. What we got was a Internet Activated only fast paced rip off. That lost the feel of what Red Alert 2 was all about. And not only that Super Weapons had no on/off switch you entered a skirmish the computers would play defensively until it bought a super weapon then own you with it. Took the fun out of the game.
Demigod
Dota clone that just made me want to play Dota even more and stay away from anything like this. was truly disappointing.
Dungeons
Like most people out there that played Dungeon Keeper 2 till the disc ceased to work. I was waiting for a awesome remake. Unfortunately for us Dungeon Keeper 3 never came about cause Bullfrog went bust. then along came this waste of time instead of controlling your minions you have to make a maze to keep your heroes happy till you bop them off... sadly this game made me want to shove it down the throat of the guy who sold it too me. Ill wait for a new Dungeon keeper to spawn before i bother wasting my money again.
Well for me big letdowns were: 1.Command and Conquer 4 Tiberian Twilighr(they screw up everything in this game) 2.Singularity( I expected longer campaign, both when I go to the end i was dissapointed) 3.Crysis( the first half o f the game was so boring that I wanted to erase the game frommy computer) 4.Far Cry 2( same like Crysis begging is very, very, very boring)

uhm, that's because the game has a very complex idea, like playing naval warfare more intensively, importance of having an aerial superiority,as well as not turtleling, coz in ra3,it's important to show aggression and not let your opponent get what he wants.there are very few people who could really understand the game(those who dont like being a baby).the storyline is ridiculous though.but the game itself has improved well.ra3 showed true balance in units as well.no 1 unit could be very dominating.yuriko could be dominating but long range units could easily own her.ra3 would be very hard to like if you like just playing dominant and relying on 1 unit type or just on your hero to dominate.a hero in ra3 would not dominate without huge support from many other units.as well as unit combination is very important too...
