I can say this it won't take a place in USA at all.. Since all this has been happening in Italy so rest of the story would take place in Italy too.

The first AC played in the Middle East (Jerusalem,...), don't know where you got the idea of AC only playing in Italy

I think a place in America would be totally OK, especially since the Codex-Map at the end of AC2 showed that continent too ALL places in the world would be OK for a modern-day-story, but i'm sure others are certainly better fitted.

This Post was about Assassin's Creed Brotherhood not any other Assassin's Creed.. Look at the where the Topic has been posted.. Then you might have a clue which game I was talking about..
its sure there is brotherhood 2[...]
Really? I mean, Brotherhood is amazing and i would gladly enjoy a ACB2, but i think it would be cooler if the next AC abandonded Ezio and went on to a new era.
Because in the end the whole series is NOT about Ezio, but the fight between the Templars and the Assassins over these powerful artifacts and how this fight goes on.

Because of that concept i highly doubt that any next AC will play in a time before Ezio or even Altair.
I like crsojos idea of helping start the French Revolution, but it doesn't have to be necessarily a time of big change, since the Templar-Assassin-fight takes stage behind the scenes anyway.

I personally would prefer that the next AC plays sometime around 1800/1850 and the last in Desmonds time, where i'm interested in how Ubisoft will then solve the climbing-jumping-thingy, cause jumping from the rooftops of New York...i don't know ^^

Civil war anyone?! lol that would be funny.

"Assassin's Creed is a flagship product for Ubisoft. Some Ubisoft Montreal's developers stated in their interviews that Assassin's Creed III will be released eventually. The game will introduce a new character in an entirely new setting.[5] There has been much speculation about possible settings of this game. Corey May stated that Assassin's Creed III will not take place during World War II.[6] No other official information has been yet announced. Jean-Francois Boivin of Ubisoft stated that each numbered title in the franchise will introduce a new lead character and a new setting.[5] Patrice Désilets, former series' creative director, said that the series has always been planned as a trilogy. He also commented on the story of Assassin's Creed III, saying that it will focus on Assassins' quest to prevent the end of the world in 2012 and their race against time to find temples built by "those who came before". Desmond would have to search for clues on locations of these temples by exploring memories of his other ancestors."

the last rumor i was seeing is assassins creed is only a triology and all around desmond.

next game is rumored to have a female lead in english/america civil war but people are not sure if it will have you as desmond in animus or the missing girl mentioned at end of ACB.

biggest rumor seems to be you will be hunting for eve in the garden of eden as hinted by ending and subject 16's vids

not sure they could do an AC based on now times.. i mean.. desmond jumping around the roofs of los angeles only to have some templars pull out their machine guns and mow him down?

but there will obviously be another one, if not more. if you've beaten the game, you see the cliff hanger at the end. they wouldnt just end it on that note.
