How would I go about editing the Fire projecting mangonels for batter range/accuracy & ammo? which values do i change?

You need PFM 1.6.5 to edit the pack file. Edit the one with what patch you have (I am still using patch2). Anyway, click "db" and then "Unit_stats_land_table". Look for the range, ammo and accuracy columns. For the range, I can't help you since mangonels do not have projectile ID (maybe you can chamge it's ammo?).

Also, keep in mind that if you edit a common unit in the game, every clan that has that unit will get the benefits. Anyway, the safest mangonel to edit is hojo mangonel. You can edit it as much as you want and no other clan will benefit from it since it is a unique unit for hojo.

Well as it turned out, I've been editing the wrong pack file. I should've been making changes to the patch3.pack, the latest version of the database since the game was patched numerous times, and instead I made changes to the original data.pack file which nothing happened no matter what I do. so there's a bit of "derp moment" for me there.

Another interesting thing I found is that when I set the range of my matchlock ashigaru to more than 200m, let's say 250m, other AI clans don't want to engage you in combat or just plainly ignore you, when I changed it back to 200m it went back to normal.

I think it has something to do with the code behavior of the AI. There is a certain distance for you to get close before they engage you? It's just my 2 cents.

I notice that long before I modded the game. Using the hero archers, the AI did not engage me at 200m and above. When I try to get closer to target the archers behind the spearmen, the AI engage. The way I understand it, anything below 200m activates the AI to respond.

I do not know if increasing battle difficulty matters.

Hey Alice,

Would I bee an ass if I would ask you to add the pimped katana samurai to that archers pack that you gave me and remove flaming arrows? I dunno much about these things and if it takes lots of time then please don't do it.

Well, since Chosokabe doesn't have a unique katana samurai unit, any edit I would make to it will also benefit the other clans that possess the same unit. Unless you mean the hero unit (I could make it unlimited). I have not seen the AI recruit hero units, but if I make them available to any buildings below legendary buildings then the AI is bound to recruit them.

Just like playing chosokabe and was hoping for 1 pimped melee and 1 ranged unit that are cheap to produce. Ty for your help mate.

shavrovas, there is another thing I can do. I could make make the meelee skills of the samurai archers as strong as the hero katana unit. After all, they are also samurais.
