Go into steam, go to properties for shogun 2, under local files click on "verify integrity of game cache". Before you do this, take out all mods besides packs that have been modified. In other words, if you have Apocalypse11's mod for Takeda, that will show up as mod_mod etc..., Take that one out. Now if alice sent you the patch3.pack in an edited version, you need to leave that in. The game will rework that file to original. Once you get that working right, copy whatever original files you are going to write over (I use an external flash/thumb drive so it doesn't get rewritten by acident) and then put your modded/edited files in. Of course make sure the game works properly before you make any change. Here is a link that shows how to: shoguntotalwar.yuku.com/topic/66329/How-to-verify-integrity-of-game-cache Hope this helps you out.

Can you send the download link for the modified Chosokabe clan pack file please? Also the original, unaltered data pack as I forgot to backup my original one. Thanks much.
I sort of modified the unit stat but not noticing any significant changes, for example I changed the projectile range for my matchlock soldiers but it stays the same, when I modified the accuracy and reloading speed however it did show, except for the number of troops.
I am also encountering a new crash-to-desktop problem, it happens after round 50 (or so), when I save the game and exit to windows, restart the game and load the save game file, it crashes to desktop. I had to start a new campaign gameplay all over again.
I have yet to update to patch 3272. I still have the patch2. I was worried that PFM may have problems with the new patch. Your mod problem is unclear to me. Maybe you could explain it further?
Also, the CTD you experienced may not be related to the files you edited. I have read about issues like that in the bugs section at TWcenter when the game was just released. I do not experience it because I also edited the number of turns per year in my game. Instead of 4 turns per year (vanilla), I have 24 turns per year.
Well as it turned out, I've been editing the wrong pack file. I should've been making changes to the patch3.pack, the latest version of the database since the game was patched numerous times, and instead I made changes to the original data.pack file which nothing happened no matter what I do. so there's a bit of "derp moment" for me there.

So you need the patch.pack file? I can upload it for you.
An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest. I know that you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

No that's okay, thank you very much. I think I know what I am doing right now, heh heh.
Another interesting thing I found is that when I set the range of my matchlock ashigaru to more than 200m, let's say 250m, other AI clans don't want to engage you in combat or just plainly ignore you, when I changed it back to 200m it went back to normal.
