Hey guys, this may be a really obvious tip, but if you don't want to get caught by surprise updates on your Steam games, turn off automatic updating.

Now, you can't avoid that first post-install update, so be warned. But right after that's done and the game is functional, right-click on the game in your library and turn off auto updates.

I do this for my entire library and only perform updates that i know to be useful/necessary.

Might avoid ya some frustrations and, shall we say, rash posts?
