We have several wars running the Middle East, we can expect Cali to be hit by a massive quake in the next few years, N. Korea's been waving their stick around a bit too much, ect...

Nothing bad will be happen to the Earth in 2012.

Our planet has been getting along just fine for more than 4 billion years, and credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012.

Actually, If it is going to happen, not much can be done. So live life to the fullest every day.

With all the trouble brewing though, IF the world doesn't end in 2012, I think it will be a clearly changed one.

Essentially all modern technology either directly relies on helium, or its manufacturing and inputs rely on helium.

As well as our medical imaging technology.

And hopes for future production of energy largely rests on a rare helium isotope.

Helium is so cheap because the US government is selling it off at a very high rate. And the price being depressed means that alternatives are not actively being developed.

When the price begins to naturally rise again as the US's reserve is exhausted, it'll be too late.

Not to mention that the technology to find helium elsewhere itself requires helium.
