Ok I think I know whats going on, If you activation bulding and amry options, close the trainer by alt tabbing out of the game, then go back to the game, you can see the cheat is still working although the trainer has been closed. so my solution, research all your techs (save alot untill you get them all). close the trainer, restart the game, load last save. this way all the address in memory is unchanged. the DRM detection will detect nothing.
Although I liked how option 6 worked a lot better in the first trainer...

Please see my post being if you end the last tech with that screwy huge turn number, it will crash your game. Not immediatly, but I guess turn 42 is the first check, if your tree isn't done by then I can anly asue it would be in the 60 area like others are posting here. It doesn't check every turn. Again, I need someone to confirm this or I am deleting my post, I hate giving wrong info but it worked for me.

Listen guys, I know it's nice and easy to blame our trainer for every single problem in the game, but I think you need to re-evaluate your expectations for what we do here. WE ARE NOT GAME CRACKERS. If they added in some sort of DRM that checks for code A to match code B at random interval C in the SINGLE PLAYER GAME, then there's not a lot we can do about it without digging through and trying to completely disable their DRM (See statement above).
Now, if the trainer is "useless" with this DRM, then we can easily retire the game and stop wasting hours upon hours of updating the trainer when patches come out.
If someone has a 100% always repeatable savegame where we can replicate the issue very quickly, then we can see what might be causing the issue and see if it can be worked around. Otherwise, please take your complaints to the game developers.

I've got a game at turn 40 with the trainer. I'll play a few more turns and confirm/deny the turn 42 thing. If I succeed and don't crash, some time tonight I'll try playing to turn 68-70 and confirm/deny.
However, on the official Total War boards, someone had a similar issue, but was cheating with a mod. This mod, apparently, triggered the DRM, and the guys are looking into it as it shouldn't be happening. Perhaps it's an over-zealous DRM. There may be a fix in later patches for the DRM, if that's the case.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- OMFG!!!!! TRAINER HAS BEEN UPDATED!!!! HOLY ****!!!!! NO WAY!!!!!
i was never blaming the trainer or complaining about problems with it, i only wish the patch updates would resolve all the crash issues with the game itself from A to Z. and like the previous post i've also searched steam and total war forums and found same issues about CTDs its a widespread problems and modders who are trying to update their mods from empire/napoleon are taking longer than they want.
i did come across a couple yesterday and before but im too lazy to look them up fyi copy and paste the link from "forums" it works
[Edited by diggler_45, 3/22/2011 2:52:30 PM] another thread just when i pressed back forums.totalwar.com/showthread.php/10467-Crash-to-desktop-when-ending-term-date-summer-1558
looks like the CA staff is encouraging the customers affected to send them their steam dump files, so if you want you can do that to, just check the last thread i posted and it has the info.
good news is they're working on the patch to fix it
Where do you find the savegames anyway? BTW I have tested my theory and I am on turn 87 now all techs done!! 2nd BTW... This kind of thing happened in the original Shogun.(CTD's)
