First I would like to thank the makers of this website, for having a great service and (for the most part)excellent community of members. I know I don't really ever say much, but then I rarely need to, because problems are very rare and often times problems are with the games, rather then trainers.(Even if a trainer does not work, you win some, you lose some. Some people need to take that to heart).
But the reason for the post is not just a thank you to the makers, nor a problem with the trainer its self. I was wondering if anyone else is now being harassed in game by the game its self, stating that you are using a 'illegal' copy of Shogun 2. The message states you've loaded a save game on to a non-authentic copy of Shogun 2. This message pops up even upon loading a new campaign. I've sent a ticket off to Sega, but I wanted to know if anyone here has come across this yet and if anything has happened or instability has happened as a result.
While combing through Total War forums, a couple of other people got hit with this message and it looks like it was because they added some modded files. Apparantly its some sort of anti-piracy security. (Great, punish the paying customers for being loyal and honest)
Hi,add me to your list. After exactly my 68th turn,no way to continue playing Shogun 2... however I paid for the game. Now I don't know if this is some kind of game protection or the trainer... maybe both...
i am kinda worried i may run into that issue even though i am using LEGIT version. i haven't passed 20 turns yet.keep me update on that problem, guys. or please post the thread links.
same problem here.. im using a steam copy of the game, worked fine last night but today cant do anything since all of the event messages read that my copy is illegal and you cant close the messages.. sigh.. still browsing the steam forums to see if its a steam, sega or a trainer related problem.. Using windows xp, just incase somebody is wondering
same here, i think the game does a DRM check with all the memory address associated with the game on 68th turn, if you try loading a earlier save and turn off the trainer then you will not have this problem, but the drm thing is pretty annoying especially for those of us who actually bought the legit copy....

mine was only 41th turn.. or rather the start of 42th.. i really dont want to start all over again :/ deactivating the trainer, atleast from the autosave did nothing.. but i do have a that research option used on my research.. and since its my last research i cant really switch it to a non-hacked tech oh well..
I bought the game through newegg being I had a gift card and I got the limited edition where as steam gave nothing but Rome (EVERYONE HAS ROME!!) I haven't run into the problem anyone here has, just thought I would throw it out there, I have a physical copy, tired of Steam downloads not working properly, so I waited the extra 2 days to get the copy via newegg. I wouldn't blame the trainer here, Never ran into any problems with any game because the trainer was off when I restarted the game.
