Okay, so I need to know what your opinion of "Techno" is. I, for one, am not really a fan. I listen to basically every style of metal possible, along with Jazz, 50's to 60's music (like heard in Fallout 3/ New Vegas, Bioshock/2) and some electronica music (pretty much just Breathe Carolina). Now, I do listen to Attack Attack! and Abandon All Ships (Link) but I seriously can't really get into Techno. I tried.
What're your opinions? I'd like to know. Because some of my metal friends like techno and "gangsta (c)rap" and I can't understand why.
I have found "Deathstep" which is almost decent...and "Drumcorps" which is also kinda decent.
Not all of these are "Metal" but I'm showcasing my interests. I enjoy metalcore/mathcore/deathcore/technical death metal/death metal/hard rock/thrash metal/hardcore/post-hardcore/jazz/etc.
..So as long ago stated; I want your opinions. (Also, any metal or similar to the stuff I have listed that I may not have heard of, I love expanding my library)
What I am a fan of is Death Metal, Blackened Death Metal, Melodic Death Metal, Black Metal, Industrial Metal, Thrash Metal, Progressive Metal, Celtic Folk Metal, etc...So I guess I am pretty much one of the pure metalheads out there.
I used to like Trance/Techno some time ago, but now I can't care less. I just don't hate it as of now. But I do like Daft Punk.
If you wan't more recommendations when Metal is concerned, I am your man!

I don't know if you would consider this "old school" or not but... I used to listen to the crystal method.
They were pretty good back in the day, haven't heard them in a while. I have alot of friends who like techno,i too have tried to get into it but like you i just can't get myself to like it.
Massive attack is another good one.
I myself love,metal(all)thrash,punk,hard/classic rock,rockabilly,irish metal/punk,rockabilly punk/goth...
Try Blue Stahli there a mix between of quite a few genres like tecno trance and nu metal.
Personally I can't stand techno unless I'm too drunk to care. It's a lot better than that drum n bass/dubstep that's the rage these days mind you.
