On another note, the man who is named in this thread made the anime and movies, not the entire franchise.
Satoshi Tajiri, the creator of the trading card games and concept for the Nintendo-exclusive video game franchise is alive and well, as well as all other Gamefreak employees.
I fondly remember that I loved the movies and first couple of seasons of the anime, so I mourn the passing of the man in charge, but since the creator of the entire franchise is alive and well, we can look forward to more Pokemon games born of his brilliant mind.
