I just recently bought the Ultimate Edition, and haven't updated it, I was wondering which trainer do I need to use in order to work with it,I'm not playing it through STEAM
Well did you get it from a Direct to Drive source other than steam (check your version and use one of the STEAM/D2D trainers) If from a store then (check your version and use one of the Retail trainers)

I bought it from gamestop, and how would I go about checking the version?
Simple way find where you installed it look for the DAO.exe file and right click then click properties it will tell you in there
The one in the bin_ship correct? If so, it says 1.04 so I assume that is the trainer I need?
yes that one.
So there of these two trainers.
1. Mega Trainer (Patch #4 STEAM/D2D) --> Link
2. Mega Trainer 1.04 (RETAIL) --> Link
But since I believe gamestop is a retail store I say Number 2
