Making a website on General Discussions Message Board - Page 1

I'm planning to set up my own website for my artwork and such, but I have no idea where to start. Does anyone have any recommendations of good host sites that are easy to use, or any helpful information? I need to be able to have some form of image gallery/slideshow, but apart from that it can be pretty basic.

I'm not really sure if it'll help but I've seen people have art blog-type-things on Blogger.
