i was wondering what your tattoos where if you have any i have a skull on my inside left forearm (my art work) i have recently started tattooing and i have been practicing on myself so there is a few other small crappy tattoos also.
Thor's hammer on my right bicep, Chinese symbol for phoenix with a tribal sun around it on my right forearm and a turtle on my left bicep with the symbol for longevity as well as the symbol for dragon on my left forearm.
Well for me tatoing is ruining my body with something that you cannot remove(you have to go to the operation to remove the tattos plus there is a big scar as a price). Tatotoing was used for some memebers of groups long ago, that is fine, both tattoing some crap on my arm let's say like dragon or that that I will never do. Ohh and only people that were tattos are criminals and sailors(boredom)
Criminals? Sailors? Part of some group?
In some cultures, tattoos are supposed to have magical powers, to give luck and good fortune to the one who has the tattoo, or even to heal sicknesses. Tattoos have also been a way to show ones status in the village/tribe/etc And I know quite a lot of people who have tattoos and haven't even got so much as a ticket for speeding, like my mother has a tattoo on her leg, and she plans to get way more to cover up some scars, a couple of friend's of mine have some tattoos and I even have a monk friend whose back is covered in tattoos of angels.
All I'm saying is that not every single person who gets a tattoo is a criminal of some sort. Some of them just want to be unique, or have cultural reasons.
