I only rely on pirated games if they don't have any official release in my country. Otherwise I insist on getting the original.

I really don't blame the pirates for the piracy of digital goods because the end user is the only person to be blamed.

I guess in that regard that pirating wouldn't be as bad. Everyone wants to play the games that peak their interest, so if those are made unavailable to them then they will find a way to get them.

Like some people have said prices are high here too. an average xbox game costs around 600ZAR (Which is about 90USD). When getting your Xbox chipped and buying a pirated games costs a lot less.

The same is with PC games. An average PC game costs about 400ZAR (60USD) when pirated games in markets cost only 100-200ZAR (15-30USD)

Pricing is everything, and sometimes when there are several games I want I can't afford to buy them all legally so I legally buy the games I like the most and I get the rest from illegal vendors.

I feel incredibly bad for doing it, and I'd like to pay full price for every game I buy, but it's just not viable.

Wow! And we in america complain about the $60 we have to pay for games. This changes my way of thinking a little bit.

The following repeatedly justify internet piracy in its fullest

    . Overpriced games

. Invasive and pointless DRM that doesn't work

. Greedy publishers that buy out and get rid of any creative talent in the industry

. DLC content that should have been packaged with the original game and are purely designed to get more money

. Continuous bugs and glitches that are never fixed even after several years, some even causing computers to crash entirely

. Developers who tell customers to buy their games then very publicly whine when they don't buy the next one without realising it was sh**

. ( My personal one ) Unnecessary features like achievements and MSN style friends lists that are being shoved down players throats even if they don't want them anywhere near their HUDs

Get rid of all these problems and I reckon piracy might be reduced dramatically

I only buy games I really, really, really like cause I'm not a little rich spoiled brat so I don't have money for every damn game I want to play.

Also @ Shibby, you should move to Balkan. You'd be in awe to see that 95% of games here have the same price since the day they came out. For example, Call of Duty Black Ops is here 100$ and will remain like that for next 4-5 years. Just like CoD4 and WaW and many other games.

Completely agree with this one, I too only buy games that I really like and find that the games here in Balkan (well Croatia in my case) are way overpriced and, well, old. That's the main reason why I started buying all of my games over the internet (usually they arrive from the UK or China and it takes about 1-3 weeks till they get delivered straight to my adress). Right now I just bought a game for my PS3 and it cost about $30, while here in Zagreb the same game costs $65 - $70.

    Hmm....
    Woot, let's start!
TBH, all of my PC digital **** is pirated. That's what happens to you when you live in a country like Syria. I mean there's NO PLACE that you can buy original games/programs/movies from. Everything is pirated. And Syria is transected, so the most famous online paying method (PayPal) is not available here; great life, huh?!
To anyone who's saying that having pirated games is disgusting, you should take a look at other countries (I'm pretty sure people living in the U.S.A., U.K., Canada, Australia, etc.. have no problem with getting original games). It's mainly about the resources and the cash. I have the cash, but sadly, no resources... It's a sad world that we live in...

    Thanks!
I do have steam, but I don't buy games there very often (I'm actually saving it for a later period when I'll buy a real gaming PC)
