Mass Effect 2 is landing on the PlayStation 3 a year after the 360 and PC versions. So does it look better? The short answer is "no". The long answer is "it's complicated".
The technical specialists at Digital Foundry have sat down with the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game (now that there's a demo on the PS3) and found that while the PlayStation 3 version is using the same engine as the upcoming Mass Effect 3, that doesn't translate into a universally superior performance on Sony's console.
Why? Thank/blame the Unreal Engine 3, which the game was built on, which has always run better on Microsoft's console. While some things, like shadows and the game's resolution, look better on the PS3, other things — like normal-mapping, anti-aliasing and effects — are downgraded.
This inconsistency continues through to the game's performance. While the PS3 version is locked at 30 frames per second, meaning in busier scenes things run smoother than they do on Xbox 360, there is also a lot more "screen tearing" apparent.
If you don't own a PS3, this won't matter. Likewise, if you only own a PS3, again, this won't matter! The game is wonderful, and these are minor quibbles. But if you own both, and are such a big Mass Effect 2 fan that you were swayed by the prospect of a wholly superior version, you may want to hold off. Or wait until you can see it with your own eyes and determine if it's worth it.
(Or, yes, before anyone chimes in, get the PC version, which looks better than either console edition ever will)

they both are great systems but i'm going to go with the 360. it's not like it blows the ps3 out of the water but there are a couple of little things that i like more about the 360.
i like being able to just snatch my hard drive off so i can play my saved games on another 360 very easily. i also like the controller for the 360 better than the ps3. they are basically the same controller but the more rounded shape of the 360 controller feels more natural in my hand, and the analog sticks offer the perfect amount of resistance and mobility..and their offset positions are set so my thumbs rest perfectly on them when i grab the controller. i feel like the sticks on the ps3 one are too close together and they don't offer enough resistance. also imo, the triggers on the 360 feel better than the bumpers on the ps3, which is a definite plus when playing shooter games.
its not much...but the little things for the 360 are what make it just a little better than the ps3.

I voted for X-BoX360 , cz it's just awesome!!!!! I own one X360 and it's better than PS3 coz PS3 just copied all the games of XboX and X360 came first
better than 360 ha?
and ps3 copied all the 360 games now ?
yes . having games Like MGS 4 , GT5 , LBP , KZ ,TM , Is the dream of every 360 owner ! and ah by the "its better" just play FF on PS3 and THEN play it on your 360 , TRUST ME you will throw your 360 without a small doubt
i have nothing against the 360 (in fact i own one) BUT Never claim that's its better than the ps3 without AN CLEAR EVIDENCE and JUST SAYING THAT IT COPIED ITS GAMES.
360 for about the same reasons as dstates as well as the fact that the Xbox loads faster. The Xbox has a 12x DVD drive and the PS3 has a 2x Blu-ray drive. I would rather have the 12x DVD drive.
Also, how are the games copied if they are made by the same producer for all platforms? Then it was originally intended for the PS3 and not copied. I haven't seen halo on PS3 yet
