Reasons have already been stated by other members so no need to repeat what they have said. I do think its only fair if maybe AUTHOR/UNLIMITED can "at least" get a new avatar every 3 months like the olden days and if they want one earlier then maybe make them pay like the free members.

Evan has a good point, I don't think there is another forum who pays for custom avatars, but we do understand that it is a lot of work for you guys.
I agree with the idea of having 1 free avatar per year on a set weekend or some such and if you miss that weekend you have to pay for your avatar if you still want it. Some users (Myself included) do not have access to credit cards. Some people are also distrustful of internet trans-actions.
However I will understand if you decline this, it is your site and you make the rules, and as long as we are here we must adhere to them.
While other forums may not charge for custom avatars, they are also not customizing each person's avatar either. People upload a pic of whatever size and it's posted. If you guys prefer to have pics of giant weenies or animated gifs all over the site then no problem, we can do that. However, seeing as how we have to re-size, sharpen, and completely customize each avatar submitted by hand, then NO we will not be going back to allowing one every 3 months. I spend a good portion of my day doing avatars EVERY DAY for people that have never and will never even post a message on the board. The same people were submitting new avatars every 3 months on the day. It's overwhelming and takes away from us posting content, making trainers and other things. We *MIGHT* at some point allow one per year or something of that nature but for now the current policy stands.
