Having a bit of trouble with my new compute, basically there is no sound coming out of it at all. Even when I put in headphones or speakers it doesn't work, yet my sound card seems to be working just fine..
    Any ideas?

Check that they're correctly plugged in, sound drivers are up to date and maybe that'll help. Maybe it's more of a software problem than a hardware problem...
    I usually had problems when:
    1) The speakers aren't properly connected.
    2) I accidentally uninstalled the software necessary for sounds hearing. (Yeah, I was young and foolish back then)

It's muted, or the volume turned all the way down, in the volume mixer.

Make sure you've updated all your drivers.

    Restart, maybe it's a hiccup.

If you're using front panel jacks, double check they're plugged in to the mobo.

most likely you dont have your sound drivers installed.

if its a new computer you should have a disk(s) with all your drivers on it. if you dont, then find out what soundcard you have and see if you can find the drivers for it online.
