Just what the title says, my computer no longer recognizes my second HDD, i've for awhile now, at least a year or two, and it just can't be seen in my computer anymore, all my desktop shortcuts for games on that drive are all buggered, i've lost all my music and steam won't even start when i start my computer, is there any way to fix this short of taking my rig into the shop?
I recommend taking it to the shop. Sounds like it could be a hardware problem and if you don't have extensive knowledge about computer hardware I don't recommend fixing it yourself. Better safe than sorry.

OMG! Blitz, look! That Amumu has 4k health and is fed as hell. Better grab him when everyone on our team is around you!
Edit- If not, you're probably looking at a dead drive.

If your HDD died completely... --- If you have items of utmost importance on it (and you never backed up), you can try putting your HDD into the freezer overnight and taking it out and putting it back into your computer quickly. If you're lucky, this will give it approximately 20-30 minutes of life to pull files (so make sure to grab the most important ones first as this trick probably won't work very well on future attempts).

Hmmm, open up the casing, check the power and data cabling is in place. SATA drives have been known to let their data cable loose due to the nature of the cable end not being a snug fit.
If so, check it is seen in the BIOS, if it is.. Then when in windows...
Goto START > Control Panel > Administration Tools > Disk Tools > check that the drive can be seen, it may have lost its partition if so you have two choices.
1. Start a new partition which will wipe all data (kinda)
2. Try to repair the old partition using many partition manager software out there, not always 100% guarantee it will work.
