Fallout: New Vegas Message Board  

Hi all,

I can't get Lily to play the recording of her grandchildren so I can finish her quest. She is the only follower I haven't finished yet and it is getting annoying.
I've had her go into a rage and spoken with her after but she doesn't play the recording. I've explored the wasteland with her in tow, sleeped with her, rested with her and just stood there for an hour waiting for her to do it. Nothing works.
Can anyone help me please?

Open the console and use the complete quest cheat. I think Lily used one too many Stealth Boys and she has brain lock now .

I struggled with getting this one done myself.

I shot her down to force the psychotic break (it doesn't seem to matter whether or not you get the box prompt telling you about it, I only actually got it once, lol buggy game).

After her psychotic break, talk to her about it, make sure you exhaust all dialog options. After that it seemed like a time thing. I couldn't tell you how long it took. I gave up counting because taking her through the Nellis AFB quests ran me through like 90 crashes and lockups that I lost track of how much time I spent waiting.

But at random intervals, keep trying to talk to her. At some point, a new dialog option will appear asking her about what type of medicine she's taking. Once you ask her that, you're golden. All you have to do is wait 1 hour and she'll play her holo-tape and then you can talk to her about it and then tell her how often to take her medicine.

I have no idea what her ending is for every other dose though.

edit: These quests are stupid and I think they're implemented as a "PLEASE BUY THE OFFICIAL STRATEGY GUIDE" quests because there is no way you would otherwise figure out the unlock requirements to them. (Like how would you figure out Boone's history requirements especially since half of the available history you could complete before ever getting Boone or ED-E's random wait 9 day garbage?).

Thanks for all the info, I had the chat about what type of medicine she is taking but still no damn recording lol.

I think I'm just gonna give up on her.
