    So how bout dem bugs.

Going into GECK, was able to figure out why Veronica didn't level with the player (hopefully noticed this bug!). They forgot to set the "PC Level Mult" flag for Veronica which allows the NPC's level to be determined by the PC's level.

Also digging in GECK, I figured out why the Food Sanitizer was worthless in New Vegas.

Get this... almost every food item in the game isn't classified as food. It's classified as... a big gun. What the hell?

The "PC Mult" setting is for a custom NPC, not the standard set-up. If you look at the min/max level set, you'd see Veronica is (by default) a Level 12 character, with her min being 5 and max being 20.

Also, there are only 5 food items listed as "Big Guns", and they are carry over items from Fallout 3. If you look at the effects of those items listed incorrectly, they still give health/radiation effects.

Noticed a marked increase in crashes whenever I repair / modify my weapons the past few days -- and this is no matter if I have trainer running or not.

Just means before a large fixing / modding session I will wallop the Quick save key.

There's a few other minor niggles but nothing I consider major enough to stop me playing.

Every other companion has PC Mult tagged and a variety of NPCs also has it tagged. It's not a specialized custom NPC option. It's the game engine's methodology to scale the game as you level, otherwise, every mob would have a static level and every spawned NPC would have to have stats manually input. Have you even looked? lol.

Except the lightweight sanitizer mod author found otherwise. You could test the sanitizer yourself. So either the sanitizer is implemented with a broken script or food items are implemented with flawed categories. Your choice.

I probably didn't explain what I said earlier too well as using "customizable" was not a good choice of a description, so here goes. In the case of Veronica, she is set at a level 12. What I meant by customizable NPCs is that the game will scale "certain" NPCs as you scale higher (note these characters have the PC Mult selection box checked by default). Cass will scale higher for example as she isn't locked. Now, why Veronica was set that way (locked, with PC Mult box unchecked), I do not know, but she is inherently a weak character for up close fighting anyway, so being a level 12 at the onset of acquiring here must (I assume) be needed. Or, it could be that it was an oversight that the box wasn't left checked at release for scalability.

Well, using a mod to find these flaws is hardly evidence. So, it could be a broken script in the mod, yet you want for me to choose when I already told you that looking in the Geck showed only five, so the choice is yours to look. Do what I did and look in the Geck (since that is the official editor for Fallout anyway) and you'll see that there's only the five I mentioned. The fact remains, aside from those five being carry overs from Fallout 3, that they still give health and radiation effects, not some "Big Gun" effect.

Look, I don't like Vegas for the fact that it is more of the same of Fallout 3 gameplay, thus I couldn't get into it very much and yes it is buggy, but they have fixed a great deal of it now. But Fallout 3 was a buggy mess as well as you could easily have picked that game apart for its flaws when it first was released. I don't know if you remember, but when it was first released, creating/loading a saves, leaving certain areas, etc would cause that game to crash.

When they released Broken Steel, the game would crash while transitioning from the end game state into the Broken Steel game state for continuing on, as just one example of many issues that BS caused..

I actually really enjoyed this one, I thought it was better then F3 actually.

It had a much longer story line and much more custmization.

    New patch new bugs.

Since companions rendered stealth useless anyway, let's break it completely and have NPCs detect you through walls and closed doors. Problem solved.

Doesn't that just make the game more realistic? If you were walking around outside my door I would be able to hear you.
