i have seen many questions about getting achievements after using consloe cheats. well i have used console cheats since i started playing the game and have had no problem getting them. there is one catch if you use them you need to save and close out the game and steam then restart. if you use them and contiune playing you will not get any achievements. i have done this many times and have had no problems. i have changed my health, weight, and added 1000's of iteams.

As long as you close out Vegas and Steam then restart the game, you'll get the achievements.

Only need to restart the game, actually. (Closing FO:NV entirely)

This is especially pertinent when it comes to mods that necessitate console commands for some reason or another.

You can use as many commands as you please and close out Vegas. But, many commands are only good for the session in which they are used, so you would not get the command effect when Vegas is restarted.. The ones you want are those that can be saved and then reloaded with Vegas from the save file. Typically, the commands that stick with saves have "setav" and "modav" in them, but not always just those examples.

Does this still work or have the recent patches done away with this workaround?

The patches and DLCs have no effect on the console commands. Opening the console still disconnects the achievement tracking until you exit and restart the game.
