hi guys is there a way I can turn off the opening movie
scene?

It's really ****ing me off lol.

Yes, go to the directory where your "CivilizationV.exe" file is and rename/remove the following file:

Civ5_Opening_Movie_en_US.wmv

Or find the UserSettings.xml in C:\Users\yourname\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5

and in that file, find:

SkipIntroVideo = 0 and change this to 1.

Then you only get the main menu after the game is loaded.

Actually, it's "UserSettings.ini" not *.xml.
