I've been using this trainer with Steam and it's worked great, but I found a great utility on the New Vegas Nexus that optimises how your memory is used (only for 64-bit system users, though) and therefore increases performance significantly, like removing those microstutters that you sometimes get.
Here's the link for those interested: www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35262
The problem is that the utility bypasses the Steam Launcher. So when I use the trainer along with it, I get the "trainer cannot find game" message. So I'm wondering: Is there anyway you can specify to the trainer which instance of the game it recognises? If there is, could you walk me through how to do it? Not be a bother or anything. It would just be very appreciated. And if not? Well, c'est la vie.

FNV4GB doesn't bypass the Steam Launcher. There's a reason the description for the file itself has special instructions if you had a specific version that had a different steam app ID.
FNV4GB hooks on to the steam launcher and runs the app directly as if you clicked play manually. From my experiences with it, the trainer had no issues finding the game.
Like Gaygas I recieve the message "trainer cannot find game". I have the US Steam version of the game. I have no idea how to find the Steam app ID.
[Edit] I found that if you right click on FNV in the steam list there is an option to create a desktop shortcut. When I opened the shortcut "steam://rungameid/22380" is what is there. Clearly I have the standard version of the game with the app id of 22380. Still getting "trainer cannot find game".
[Edit2] I got it to work but this makes no sence. I created a shortcut to fnv4gb.exe and in the target line at the end I added -22380 . Used the Shortcut to start the game and the activated the tranier and it worked. So, in essence, I had to tell fnv4gb.exe to use the standard steam app. Go figure...
LOL I disabled Cloud and disabled auto-update and it still started the patch! Worse, there's ice on my satellite dish so I have barely enough speed to browse the net, so I don't expect I'll be playing any time soon.
Hey Ravenitrius, did you by any chance check if the old trainer still works at all? Happens every now and then.
