Also, here's a strategy. Take out your strongest gun (like I said, a decent shotgun will do) and wait for the ****roaches to approach you. Once they are very close to you, shoot it. The closer they are, the better range you get and the more damage you commit. If they are far away, hold your fire and wait for them to get closer. You inflict less damage if they are further away from you.

Not only that, but you save lots of ammo.

the ak-47 is but the rest are close to it..ill upgrade them and see if i can get past it

the AK-47 doesn't doesn't pack much power. Have you got yourself a M3 shotgun? Or even the hydra? In terms of power and accuracy, these shotguns are the best. But when it comes to capacity, they are the worst. However, the capacity won't matter if you're using strong and powerful shotguns. With one shot, you can kill your foe automatically.

you mean those lickers Beta? they're quiet annoying, that's for sure. using shotguns is one way but I normally prefer a magnum. you will need a lot of calm and decisiveness though, since these mean monsters will evade quickly if you let the laser point at them too long. Shoot at the instance the laser point at the licker's body, no matter if it's critical or not. a magnum will stun the licker for just a swift moment so quickly shoot again. Dont be so happy triggering, the hurrier u are with a magnum, the more unlikely it will hit. (don't use the magnum which deals 6000 damage, it takes too long to shoot between shots).
If the lickers get too close, it's better to use the Hydra shotgun to blast them off, don't use M3, it deals high damage but thin area effect and has a bloody long reload between each shot so don't bother.
you dont seriously consider using a handgun, do you? it's possible but I would use the one with 3-burst shot, the rest are not good ideas.
Machine guns can be good. However, those things have pretty impressive HP so make you have plenty of ammo.
IF the licker is about to shoot out its tongue, just step aside, don't turn and run, there's no need.

Using any sort of handgun in these sort of situations would be hell. Definitely a big no no.

i dont mean the licker i mean that weird ass thing that looks like a ****roack. its like leatherface (aka the guy with the chainsaw) as soon as it gets to close to you it gets hold of you and stabs you in the sides like 100 times. and it heals itself if you dont kill it right away. it doesnt heal right away but when you are almost done kiling it it can still kill you.

i almost never use small guns. i only use them when my other guns are out of ammo.

Have you tried using an M3 or a Hydra yet?
