Recently got banned myself. Guilty of having used it in the multiplayer tab on custom games to get certain achievements vs ai.
never received warnings of any sort, all of a sudden couldn't log in anymore, stating my account was permanently closed. Strangest thing was that at this point i hadn't used the trainer in at least (half) a week before this occurred.
Currently trying to get a second chance, stating i never received warnings, nor did i interrupt the online balance and fairness.
update: received final mail today which basically boils down to them not revising their decision. the customer feedback survey was rather glowing when sent.

sorry if its explained in previous posts, but what do you mean exactly by singleplayer tab? While online, could i use the trainer on the campaign to gain achievements, or would i get caught for that?
(NOTE: I used the trainer really early on when the game first came out on 96% of the campaign (completed 96%) and i think all of the challenges while ONLINE - didn't use it for anything else - to get me to 2000+ achievement points and have yet to be banned/suspended or sent a letter. Is it safe to assume continuing to use the trainer like this in online mode is safe?)
Well, i am honestly concerned about using a trainer, even if it is just in single player, i mean, now-a-days, the RTS games are made for rushers in mind, which screw over players that enjoy the old-fashioned RTS game.
I enjoy building a base against multiple AI that do NOT rush, the last game that was a RTS that didn't rush me to build as fast as possible was Star Trek Armada, now that was a good RTS game, but now-a-days, everything is made around rushers that want a game to end in 5mins.
If i knew that i wouldn't get banned for playing single player with a trainer only, i would.
I agree that anyone cheating in multiplayer should get banned, though i do feel sorry for those that accidently leave the trainer running and forget about it and start a MP game.

You sure you didn't accidently go into multiplayer at all with the trainer running?
