When I was a kid... I played extreme versions of The Floor Is Lava and climbed from my bed onto a side table and then jumped across to a desk and leapt onto a sofa for safety. Then I tossed a cushion onto the floor, pulled out the sofa-bed and grabbed a book, able to read without lava-burn.
