I have a Dell Optiplex 780. All specs support the minimum requirements to run the game except my Nvidia 6800 card. Does anyone know a way of getting the game to run using that card?

It might run but I'm betting it would be slow even on lowest graphical settings. I'm running it with low settings for high resolution on an SLI Nvidia 9800 and it's certainly not great performance.

Try asking/looking over on the official Civilization 5 forums.

Awesome, will do, thanks. The game crashes right after I "set up" a game. I enter in all of the info like who I want to be and world setup then as soon as I click to play it, it CTD.

Run in DirectX 9 mode (pretty sure it won't start for you in DX10/11 anyway). Try a smaller map and reduce the number of AI players and city states. Set graphics options as low as you can (requires to restart game) and try windowed mode over full screen.

I'm guessing your still on Windows XP 32 Bit.. these are the latest drivers for the 6xxx to the 2xx cards. Which is very important for any game/program that uses a GPU.

    www.nvidia.com/object/winxp-258.96-whql-driver.html

If your on a different OS you can go to... www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

and fill in your system information and it'll give you the latest drivers for that.

While there isn't anything specific to Civ 5, This should help quite a bit (especially if your current drivers are outdated!)

I'm running a 2.6Ghz dualcore with an Nvidia GTX 260 and it should be a good setup but on the highest settings, as soon as I get further into the game, the game keeps crashing. Perhaps the latest update will fix the problem.

i got a geforce 8600 GT and that runs the game very well.. Even with big maps (on win xp)

only problem i got is that if i let a unit move more then 1 or 2 turns on there normal mode (without trainer) and also with trainers btw, then it crashes..

so walking unlimited is still kinda limited for me, cause it takes forever to let workers and anything else walk from one end to the other end of the map :P
