i know i am spamming this on several threads but, what will happen is that the previously legit players who purchased the game before will download cracked or warez versions of the game so they wont lose their 60 bucks to some lame ban. this is the future for the series of this game. i hate to say it, but blizzard is actually going to cause more people to get ahold of illegal or warez copies of this game so they can play it without fear of banning.
my 2 cents.
best, Cal
So true, was just wondering on what had happened. - this will be a major driver getting (currently) legit people into the piracy scene...
Kind of sad development if you think of it. The real issue I have with this is the fact that this is not the Developers fault but the money hungry mongrels sitting in Marketing / Business sections that are responsible for this kind of crap.
I used to be a GM Team Lead for many different games (AAA titles) and had to make so many decisions that I would have done differently if there was no Marketing / Business involved. The publishers and their hunger for "moar" money are the ones killing seriously good products!
Don't be mistaken, Developers care! But in most cases they have no choice in the matter.
Best example: Minecraft - this one just works and all without the need of some d***head Business Development Manager at the helm.
I got banned a while ago the reason was using a trainer does not disable the achievements and those achievemtns points are used in online play and distinguish a player. I think that was the main reason they banned players who used cheats in order to get those achievements.
Anyway I got banned too lol, had to re-purchase the game. My freind was suspended for 15 days due to multiple usage, his brother signed in accidently at the same time he did and suspension.
I have personally unlocked all achievements with the trainer and have never been banned, i even moved to multiplayer a few times where i forgot to turn the options off.
What I hate the most about this is even after the statement being released, some people are STILL able to use a trainer and get away with it.
It's not that I care, I used the trainer even after the statement was released to test the waters on singleplayer. I used it to complete a couple more missions on brutal for progression on achievements and was not banned (did this specifically on 4/30/2011 and currently at 2300+ points).
I just want some god-damned consistency, how was I able to get away while a couple others got suspended or banned!?! Are the people getting banned not telling us that they did try the trainer out in MP or maybe a custom game vs AI or a friend?
Should I try again? I still don't have the Kerrigan picture :P
Dunno if it matters, but I've had the game pretty much day 1 and While I used the trainer in Single player to help complete the game on brutal difficulty, I have yet to be banned or warned. Haven't played recently however, so I'm not sure if that would still hold up or not.
