As far as it is up to me i would play with a "Guest account", so there are no achievements at all and it is singleplayer only. Or simple disconnect by shutting down the entire internet (router offline etc.) Sounds primitive but it should do the job I think there are enough ways to use the trainer without the risk of getting banned. I never played online, i never will play online and as long as i cant even get any achievements i guess Blizzard can kiss my ass. Using ingame cheats turns off the possibility to gain achievements, so i guess thats the point Blizzard wants to prevent. Cheating offline => No achievements earned. Using a trainer in a non achievement mode (guest account) looks the same to me, noone is getting hurt in any way. Blizzard is striking hard because the battle.net has always been full of cheaters, ruining its reputation. I can understand that, and as long as they give us the option of cheating without gaining achievements (ingamecheats or trainer) their policy has my full support.

Yes. You cheevo score is on your profile for the world to see. I don't think there's a cheevo ladder, however.

Achievements are completely separate from the ladder ranking system.

All this post was meant to provide, was their stance on 'offline' use of third-party programs to manipulate the game 'illegally'. They will flag you for using it offline. I further replied to them asking if this was true for campaign use, and they said it applies the moment you log-in to play Starcraft II, this means usage during the campaign too, since you have to log-in to play the campaign.

Policy or no, they should just leave campaign-skirmish cheaters alone.

If I get banned for using the trainer I'll just dump the game somewhere and move on to something else.
I actually use the trainer in skirmish games against multiple Brutal AI's to improve my unit strategies, is that a crime?

Where In the ULA it also states No third party programs. Or anything that Modify the game client.

This just shows us again, very few folks take the time to use the search feature before posting.

More often than not, a poster will fail to read the post just before his/her's.

My recommendation is if you would like to post something that has been posted over and over again, maybe start off with an "I know it's been said but I didn't want it to get buried and forgotten", then go ahead and reiterate what has been said before.

A small heads up: A couple of hours ago I just got a e-mail from blizzard, key banned for third party program aka "hack".
I only used the trainer in the campaign mode (not even SP vs AI). I guess the only safe way to use the trainer is to disconnected from blizzard servers.

Maybe a little notice could be added before people download the trainer to be extra careful
