Agreed, of course I do miss the good ol' days where you could easily jump from the editor to the game directly. Hopefully they will have something like that in this editor

It is PLANNED... no release date specified yet and a plan doesn't mean it will ever be released.

Considering its been designed for great customisation and modding capability (aka lua and xml format for most files) and stated by the Community manager that it'll be out sometime next week, it would be kind of stupid for Civ V not to have it.

I agree it would be a bad move to pull the plug on it but it's hardly the first time modders were promised big things during game development and after release just to get nothing later.

This time I doubt Firaxis will fail to deliver the goods. One of the dev team was taken in from the modder community and that gives us high hope that this SDK will not only be a reality but it will be great.

Yep, trainer is practically obsolete except for trying to pick up easy Steam accomplishments.

Edit config.ini and set EnableTuner to 1. Download and run the fire tuner (found in steam tools in your Library tab). Once Firetuner connects and you are in a game go to fire tuner to add units, technologies, gold, policy points, strategic resources, etc.

Zaznet, I have steam, unfortunately could not find "fire tuner" in it ! The library only has the games I own, and no such name under tools section. Could you please be specific on where to find it ? Thanks.

I dont think he is refering to something installed on your PC already but a tool you can get through steam. Although I cant find it either in steam....my list of tools in library seems to have shrunk quite a bit and its not amongst those left.

The name of the mod tools under the "Tools" tab in Steam should read "Sid Meier's Civilization V SDK". When you download and install that one you'll be given 4 choices when you launch it.
    - ModBuddy ( for making and packaging mods)
    - WorldBuilder
    - Nexus (art tools)
    - FireTuner (This is the one you want, includes lots of options for debugging.

To enable the tuner to connect to the game remember to edit the config.ini as mentioned above.

If you are unable to load some of the tools like ModBuddy, you might need to install a Visual Studio stand alone from Microsoft.
