I'm using a Logitech G9x, and I'm having trouble with the menu's cursor and general mouse control. It feels like the cursor is sort of "fighting back", often snapping back in the opposite direction from what I was moving it when I stop moving the mouse. As for in-game control, there's a sort of delay, as in the camera follows my mouse movement, but about a half-second after I start moving my mouse.

Well I never had such problems with the game. And I had a crappy system back then.
What you can do is run it on Compatibility mode, perhaps that shall do. Also try lowering some of your game settings.
Life is best for those who enjoy it, difficult for those who analyze it and worst for those who criticize it.

What's weird is that I have the reverse problem with Worms Reloaded. The camera control is buggy but the menu cursor works fine.

I have the same mouse, but not that problem. But my guess is, that you are using your mouse on either a glass table or something with a high reflection. This can cause false movements to your mouse. Try using a regular mousepad with your mouse.
If this is not the case and you are using the latest software from Logitech then I think your mouse is defective.

I use a SteelSeries 4HD pad, which was specifically designed for high reflectivity. If "false" movements are the cause, how come they've only shown up in the two mentioned games, and absolutely nowhere else?

*Hmmnn* I do not know. But it was the best guess I could give you. As I mentioned my G9 mouse does not have the issue you mention. But I do remember my game did the same as you described. But that was due to the fact, that I needed to update my graphic card driver.

As I understand it, high reflectivity mousepads increase the responsiveness of laser/optical mice, though technically these types of mice can function on any surface. I could understand getting false movement signals if I used a high gloss pad that had scratches and stuff on it. I have tried decreasing the USB Report rate as well, to no effect.
