Well, Foxxie_kun well knows that I thought I had a case of overheating in: Batman: AA, Borderlands and Mass Effect 2, it was just my Sound Card's drivers that were not updated.

How bizarre that inupdated sound drivers can cause such a temperature flux on the GPU....

I am always updated when it comes to drivers.

Life is best for those who enjoy it, difficult for those who analyze it and worst for those who criticize it.

No offense but XFX video cards sucks balls. My XFX GTX 295's two capacitor brusted last month for the same reason. Just a friendly suggestion, don't buy XFX video card next time.

I bought a Gigabyte GTX 480 and it's much cooler than my old XFX GTX 295

+1 XFX is horrible. Asus on the other hand..I've had quite a few and only 1 passed away before its time It's overpriced though.
Gigabyte is another good one although I've never had one. It offers 3years warranty and so does Asus.

Trust is a fragile thing. Once trust is lost, it can be impossible to recover. Those we're closest to can betray us,and total strangers can come to our rescue. In the end, most people decide to trust only themselves. It really is the simplest way to keep from getting burned.

i really don't know y some consider XFX bad..i've been using XFX cards for years and never had a problem with them. they have good warranty support and i've never had over-heating problems..ever. i keep my ATX dust free. collection of dust at certain key locations is also a reason for over-heating. GTS250 is a good mid-range card but please don't try running games at max settings @HG(if u r that is).
