I have a Swedish keyboard, and I can customise trainer keys just fine, except for one. The \ key on an American keyboard does not, in fact, exist on Swedish ones. No, really. The space where it would be is taken up by a very large enter key instead. And as it does not physically exist, it seems it can't redirect to another key via customization either.

What happens is that a customised trainer runs just fine, except for nothing happening when you hit the option originally designated to \.

Is anyone else getting this, or can suggest a workaround?

Well there are certain instances! "Load Position" will not work unless you hit "Save Position".

Ha! Yes, good point, but not the case here, alas. The function mapped to \ is a simple activate/deactivate toggle, so the lack of response from the trainer seems to be the equivalent of a blank stare; "You want me to do what? HOW? Magic?"

Well which option is it? Did you read the readme supplied with it? If there are certain conditions to be met, Caliber types them in the readme.

I did read it, yes, and it's a recurring thing in all trainers that use the \ key.

Still, it all worked out. I completely forgot that exotic stuff (like funky foreign keyboard layouts ) is sometimes mapped to a little used all-purpose key. Ahh, nostalgia from the Baldur's Gate days. "Tilde key? What the hell is a tilde, and why does it have a key? ...and why don't I have one?".

So to any fellow Swedes who might be reading this: For \ in trainers, go to the other end of the keyboard and hit § (above Tab, next to 1) and you should be fine.

The tilde key is actually for denoting an approximate sign. For example your download speed is in about 10kbps, it gets denoted by ~10kbps.
