Personally I'm not a religious man so this doesn't faze me at all, but do you really Jesus would of done something like this let alone condome these actions?... I think not, go back and read the bible you preach from old man.

You forget that Jesus defiled Herod's Temple.

Wasn't that when the money changers were conning people in the temple? That's hardly a parallel, he defiled the temple because he was so upset with blasphemy going on in his father's house. If anything, such a parallel justifies taking violent action against burning a Koran and I don't think that's what KOG was talking about.

    Freakin' credit cards, man.

The "Burn Quran Day" is a totally naive decision. The pastor has no idea what's going to happen if he does that.

So on one hand there is war AGAINST terrorism, and on the other hand they are shaking hands with it this way?

Life is best for those who enjoy it, difficult for those who analyze it and worst for those who criticize it.

There is a difference between terrorism and right to expression. Don't confuse them both.
Thin lines are everywhere and rare are the people who bother to notice them.
If that certain church takes up illegal action against people(bombing, setting fires and all sorts of organized acts of terrorism) belonging to the Muslim community or against a Muslim country or any country, community or specific target for that matter, that would be called terrorism.
Burning books is uncivilized, but alas it is their constitutional right. If the Koran was with a price they'd actually lose money for their actions and that would probably deter their actions as they would have to consider their budget, but since it's free, they can easily purchase many copies and burn them all.
    Ayy lmao

See, I was in favour of "Everybody Draw Muhammed Day" because I don't believe in one religious group enforcing their rules and beliefs on everyone else. It was a protest.

This, on the other hand, is nothing but disrespect. It doesn't matter how important the book is, it's the intention behind it. I'm not Christian (at least not anymore) but I would be disturbed if I saw a Bible burning because of the malice behind the act. Same thing here, it's unnecessary.

You know who else was into burning books and deliberately offending other religions? Nazis. In fact, the hate displayed by this church for Muslims is akin to the racism Jews experienced during the Holocaust. More to the point, didn't Jesus make a big point of teaching forgiveness?

As I said, because they know it will upset people.

They're not doing it out of ignorance, they're doing it to hurt people.

This becomes Topic #3 that I make only one post in.

To be honest, it offends me that people would attack ANYONE'S religious beliefs. I'm a Christian (as you all know) but I don't make it a point of conflict with anyone. I have friends of different faiths (on this site too obviously) and we get along fine. I'm not bothered by the fact that someone else believes differently than I do and I can't understand why people insist on making religion, something that's supposed to be peaceful, into something angry and violent. *sigh*... This is a crazy, fubar world...

What do we learn from this? Always negotiate with terrorists.
