When I say true horror I mean steering away from creepy kids movies or tv series designed to scare kids / young teens a bit, I mean more adult style serious horror movies. Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, etc.
For me, my first true horror movie was the colour version of Clive Barker's 'The Thing' which I watched at the tender age of 7, and it scared the living crap out of me XD
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- Family Shrub (not quite a tree) Nic_Durron = Mama <3 Zeth_Durron = Papa <3 Rise_Against = Brother <3 Foxxie-kun = Brother <3
Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Ivan Ooze) scenes was kinda horror for me, does that count ?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- ~King of Dark~ ♮C.0.W♮ My Past has determined your future My torrential pain will be your unspeakable suffering Your days are numbered Don't fear the end Pray for it and unlike your own immortality My thirst for vengeance WILL NEVER DIE
For me, it'd have to be Earnest Scared Stupid. The monster and all the creepy shrunken kids and all that, combined with my active imagination, scared the daylights out of me. I forget how old I was, I was young. Other than that, it was IT: The Terror from beyond space.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------- In the end they will lay their freedom at our feet and say to us, 'Make us your slaves, but feed us.'
I remember that Power Rangers movie, though I think I was a bit old when it came out to find it that scary (23 now) but I can see how it would be. Havn't personally seen Earnest Scared Stupid, but Creepshow was always pretty freaky, especially the commentator XD
Edit:
When I watched The Thing (at 7) this is the point where I managed to turn the movie on at XD

The Thing was also my 1st true horror movie. Though I was 15 when I saw it. Freaked me out as well. It was doubled billed with Poltergeist. What a night that was!
