the game crashes during gameplay but only when I have the trainer activated. Tried 1.0 and it crashed at the start of the mission, tried 1.9 and it crashed when I used a skill. I tried checking in the options and stuff for my game version but it doesn't show it anywhere. anyone know where I can find it without having to try every single trainer? If it was only 3 or 4 trainers I would go ahead and try but I am not able to skip the opening cutscene when I start the game so it takes a little while.
Try checking the .exe file itself. Open the game folder, find DOW2.exe and right click it and open properties and look in Details. There should be a Product Version and a number next to it. That should be it.

looks like my product version is 1,0,0,1. thx for the help. Looks like I will just have to play the game without the trainer because I already tried the 1.0 trainer and it crashed.
Edit: hmm, tried running the trainer 1.0 again but waited until the gameplay started and now it is working fine. thx for the help peeps.
