Internet friend I know, and he made a working blu-ray laser, I'm kinda scared.

You can do that with the laser from cd writers too. Normal cd drive lasers burn out when you put that much power through it.

I learned it in electronics. Right after we had a cookout where we cooked hot dogs using 120v AC.
